Thanks to all TA's suggestions, though I could not fully understand the comments yet. Are you suggesting that I can go to the east asian library to listen to CDs? I tried to listen to the CD in other computers in computer labs, however I felt that's not sufficient. I feel a pressing need of owing an Ipod and listen to Japanese wherever I am. Well, after all, this was the way I learned English, I found it extremely useful. By subjecting myself to the environment, not only my listening ability will be significantly improved, also speaking.
I finally got myself to purchase 12 packs of notecards and put vocabs we learned in catagories, such as objects, verbs, places, identity/nationality and so on. They helped a lot. (Though the cards are expensive!!!!!)
Hope that some people can show up on Tuesday night for our practice session.

Exam.... Definitely Vocab test, key sentence translation, hiragana recognition, time/numbers/money/... that's probably all i can think of from top of my head.

i have to say listening comprehension will be important, but since my laptop has troubled me for a month already, i never got a chance to listen to the CD....but it will be helpful for everyone in the class, though I'm not gonna do well...

I am compelled to buy an Ipod. I feel an urgent need to get my Japanese study back on track. I attribute the reason of slacking off to my frustration from my laptop purchasing experience. Now, since I don't have a laptop/Ipod to listen to the CD, I find it difficult to cope up with listening and learning in general.
However, I still find the repetitious work of making sentences from textbook helpful, simply because I can sit down and really think about the grammar structure of Japenese language.
It is surely an advantage to know both English and Chinese, since they are both big components of Japenese language. Now, by constantly using a Japanese/Chinese dictionary, I get to remember Hiragana quite well.

私は昨日友達とデパートにいきましだ。I was so tired! We simply went shopping for custumes for Chinese new year performances. However it took a whole day! My feet hurt!

一人で帰りましだ. (how to say at 8.00pm within the sentence?)

Exam, to me, is not so much a motivation to work, but rather, a burden. I have developed techniques in getting over exams with good grades after my years of strenuous exam training in China. Therefore, I don't mind having more exams, however, I think a more efficient way to get people to learn is to hold more competitions, acting activities, conversation sessions, presentations and such. Language is not something to be learnt through exams. I feel it requires daily practice.

I don't quite understand how the young generation Chinese have so much hatred against the Japanese people. For me, after knowing more about them, even though a very few of them, I feel that they are polite, generous, and happy. It is probably due to propaganda, miscommunication, or even lack of communication, that these two neighboring countries still have so much negative entanglements. I am glad that I am here in the U.S, because I am able to see different points of views and make relatively more rational judgements. I'm sincerely hoping that after learning this language, I am able to help these two peoples understanding more of each other. That'll be nice!
